The Ultimate team holds regular practices 3 days per week. We practice with the goal of improving ourselves and becoming a competitive team for the tournaments that we attend. If you are looking for a more informal or less competitive ultimate frisbee experience, you might be interested in playing pick-up . Both practice and pick-up are played at Anderson Field.
The first few weeks of practice will be more of an instructional period concentrating on throws, the rules of ultimate, and offensive and defensive strategies. After that, the pace will pick up and we will focus on improving our individual and team skills to be more competitive in tournament play.
When the weather becomes unable to go outside, we hold conditioning practice in the armory.
Current Practice Schedule| Tuesday | Regular Practice | 6:30-9pm |
| Wednesday | Regular Practice | 6:30-9pm |
| Thursday | Regular Practice | 6:30-9pm |
You will need:
- Water
- Both light and dark shirts for scrimmaging. (Your shirt must be CLEARLY a light or a dark, NOT gray, yellow, or anything obscure)
- Cleats (it is strongly recommended that you buy some)
If you have classes, we understand. Come on the days when you do not have class.
Keep in mind that you can come to part of a practice if you can't make the
whole thing.
Freshmen, during your student orientation session you'll be planning your
schedule. If you have access to a computer during/before orientation or
whatnot, there is an downloadable
scheduler for RPI which helps in planning your 'ideal' schedule. It is
an essential tool, and good to know about going into your
first year. So, if you want to play, try to leave that time free.
